The Starstruck exhibition, which includes two of my images and originated at the Bates College Museum of Art, is now traveling to the Michener Museum of Art in Pennsylvania. The exhibition extends from November 8th, 2014 until February 8th, 2015. It is an excellent and interesting exhibition and I highly recommend going to see it if you are in the area.

Next Friday, December 7th (First Friday) at Carver Hill Gallery in Rockland, ME, the "Contours" exhibition opens up. The exhibition is a fundraiser for the Coastal Mountain Land Trust, and two of my photographs are included in the exhibition. There should be a lot of great work on display celebrating Beech Hill (one of CMLT's preserves), and all for a great cause. The show extends until November 23rd.

I'll be presenting at the upcoming Pecha Kucha event hosted by the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA at noon on Sunday, October 5th. I'll be joined by 5 other photographers for the event.

I've done Pecha Kucha presentations before, but this will be my first one about my Pyrotechnic series. If you haven't seen these fast-moving presentations before, each presenter speaks 20 seconds about each of 20 slides.

Tickets are available until September 29th here. There is also brunch provided before the presentations. These events are always a lot of fun and great way to get exposed to new work. Hope to see you there!

My photograph Nightfall, Otter Cliffs, was selected for the NightVisions V exhibition at the Coconino Center for the Arts in Flagstaff, AZ. This exhibition is now on display and extends until October 29th. It looks like a great exhibition but I won't be able to see it person myself -- if any of you out there get a chance to see it, let me know!

For those of you who follow my 56x56 blog or receive my newsletter this will be old news, but I'm heading off to an artist residency at Acadia National Park on September 1st. I'm one of the 2014 Artists-in-Residence at the park and I'm incredibly excited about the opportunity.

I'll still have email connection during this time though I'm likely to be online relatively infrequently (at least that is the hope!).

I’m very pleased to announce that I just hung a solo exhibit of my Adventures in Celestial Mechanics full moon series at the Maine Audubon headquarters in Falmouth.

The exhibit is up until about August 6th (I’m still finalizing this aspect — it could end a few days earlier). There are 7 24″x24″ images and 3 8″x8″ images in the show. It is a lovely preserve, too, so I highly recommend checking out the entire Gilsland Farm complex.

New Pyrotechnic Work

I've been remiss in posting new photographs from any of my bodies of work, so I'm going to start to rectify that situation starting with this post.

I photographed two fireworks shows back in December 2013 and came out with what I believe to be fabulous results. Here are seven images from those two shoots...you can see more from my Pyrotechnic series of abstracted fireworks here.

My work is now represented by the Kingman Gallery in Deer Isle, Maine. The gallery just opened up this last weekend and it looks great. You can find my work there as well as 11 other fine art photographers, so it is definitely worth a look if you are within range of that beautiful part of the world.
